Denizens of Leng are residents of the mysterious and alien Plateau of Leng which lies just beyond the borders of the Material Plane. While they have a generally human shape, on close examination it is clear that they are far from human.
Appearance[]
At first glance the denizens of Leng could almost pass for human. They have two arms and two legs, and are about five and a half feet in height. However, on closer inspection they are clearly alien in nature. Their legs end in cloven hooves and their brows and bodies are covered in horns and other protrusions. Most alien of all are their mouths which are comprised of tentacles and polyps that open in ways human mouths do not open.[1]
Habitat & Ecology[]
Denizens of Leng can primarily be found on their home plane of the Plateau of Leng beyond the borders of the Material Plane. Despite this denizens of Leng can be found frequently on the Material Plane. They posses incredible intelligence and a strange insight into matters normally mysterious to mortals. Because of this combination denizens of Leng can be found advising both leaders and madmen. Interestingly they also aid those less important. While they may advise an archmage or a Runelord, they have also been known to aid the weak and seemingly insignificant. Few try to fathom the complex plots of the denizens of Leng.
As mentioned above the denizens have a very alien appearance. It is not known whether these denizens were originally a race from the Material Plane or were always an entirely alien race. One of the most interesting parts of the physiology of the denizens of Leng is that their body is not made of flesh and bone but a substance that imitates their properties. A strange result of this is that denizens of Leng don't bleed. Instead when they are cut the blood simply flows straight back into the wound. Any body part that is served quickly dissolves into a pool of filth.[2]
Abilites[]
- Disrupt Flesh
- The bite of a denizen of Leng warps the flesh of the bitten into horrible new shapes that disrupt the creature's dexterity.
- Gift of Tongues
- A denizen of Leng can speak any language it hears spoken for at least a minute.
- Planar Fast Healing
- Denizens of Leng are always connected to the Plateau of Leng from which they can draw planar energy to heal themselves. If a denizen is killed on any plane apart from Leng then rather than dying they are merely banished to Leng, unable to return for a year.[1][2]
