Mazmezz (pronounced MAZ-mez)[1] is the demon queen of all the world's foul and scuttling vermin and holds court in her Abyssal realm of Khavak-Vog.
Appearance[]
Mazmezz's appearance is monstrously alien, being one of the ancient qlippoths that roamed the Abyss before the creation of the Material Plane; there is no trace of sanity in her form.[2] Mazmezz appears as a horrid tangle of insectoid legs, claws, pincers, and spinners, all coming from one horrible, writhing, hairy mass at her center. Mazmezz's only other real feature is her mouth, a pit of thrashing spider-like fangs that devour all who venture too close.[3]
Cult & Worshippers[]
Mazmezz has no organised cult amongst humans, behaving more like a verminous force of destruction than a deity. Her biggest humanoid following is amongst the depraved drow of the Darklands, with the vermin lords of House Moivas paying her disgusting reverence. Mazmezz finds an ardent group of worshippers amongst the most famous of the drow's fleshwarped monstrosities, the arachnid driders. Similarly, Mazmezz is often worshipped by the more natural, but no less disturbing, surface-dwelling spider creatures known as ettercaps.[3]
