Serving as the assassins of Hell the Salikotal are merciless murderers known more informally as "Prince-Killers" and the more ominous "Assassins of souls".

Few who see a salikotal live to tell the tale, they are lean human-like devils with scaled skin the colour of spilt blood. The face of a salikotal also belies its fiendish heritage, its facial features are almost as sharp as the needle like teeth that fill its mouth, above which its two eyes burn like glowing embers. On its back is its most non-human feature, a pair of blood red bat wings that span eight feet and which look strangely like an assassin's cape. Its final non humanoid feature is its legs which end in talons akin to that of a predatory bird. The whole demeanour of a salikotal is like that of an eagle or falcon, cautious and watchful but filled with deadly intent and the mercilessness of a life long predator. Salikotal are universally five foot four in height and all weigh exactly the same amount as well.[1]

Habitat & EcologyEdit

Like all devils salikotals are natives of Hell, in particular the lightless vaults of Erebus, here they lurk amongst the incredibly high vaulted ceilings taking little interest in what goes on below. Only powerful summoners or Hell's elite can persuade the salikotal to indulge in the death dealing arts. Salikotal realise that they are created for a single purpose; to end life and have little interest in anything apart from this grizzly task, they seem utterly emotionless and rarely interact with other devils when not being tasked to hunt down and butcher a target. The only other thing that occupies them is their payment, they always demand a certain type of gemstone from their summoner depending on how the wish their target's death to be handled.[2] For fideicide, where the salikotal condemns the victims soul to hell[1], they demand a ruby[2], for necrocide, where they reanimate the victims corpse as a zombie[1], they demand onyx[2] and for omnicide, where the victims body is destroyed utterly[1], they ask for jacyinth. Rumour has it that within the depths of Erebus their lie vaults filled with unbelievably large mounds of these jewels, each representing a life cut short by the fierce salikotals.[2]
