Help:Spoilers

From PathfinderWiki

(Redirected from Spoiler policy)
This page is an official policy on the PathfinderWiki. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that all users should follow. When editing this page, please ensure that your revision reflects consensus. When in doubt, discuss first on the talk page.

It is not the intention of PathfinderWiki to provide spoilers for any Pathfinder Adventure Path or Pathfinder (GameMastery) Module though the site's nature as a comprehensive resource makes crossing this line occasionally inevitable. A general rule of thumb is that if an average character, local NPC, or mid-level sage would not have the information in question, it is probably a spoiler to someone. Obviously, there are countless exceptions to this rule, and as time progresses, older products will only become more likely to contain spoilers. Below are the procedures to follow if you find potential major spoilers on the site.

  1. Flag the article in question by adding the following to the bottom of the page:
    [[Category:Spoiler]]
  2. If a discussion already exists for the article, add your reason for flagging the article to the discussion. If not, please begin a discussion for this purpose.
  3. After discussing the matter, a moderator will make the final call on whether the specific information qualifies as being significant enough of a spoiler to be removed.

Do not edit out information you feel is a spoiler without following this procedure. If no one knows why specific information is missing from an article, future editors have no way of knowing not to add it again.
